Customer Application

The Customer Application feature in PowerMove is essential for integrating with Microsoft Entra. It automates the creation of an application and secret in Entra Id, which are necessary for secure communication and authentication between PowerMove and our Customers.

Access

This user must have one of the following roles:

  • Global Administrator
  • Privileged Role Administrator
  • Cloud Application Administrator
  • Application Administrator
  • A custom directory role that includes the permission to grant permissions to applications

Setup for New Users

For new users setting up PowerMove for the first time:

  1. Configure your PowerMove settings in the DevOps & Azure tab.
  2. Click the Save button.
  3. PowerMove will automatically create an application and secret in your Azure AD tenant (The application & secret will only be used by your tenant).

Setup for Existing Users on Older Versions

Existing PowerMove users who are on an older version without the Microsoft Entra Application:

  1. Navigate to Settings in PowerMove.
  2. Go to the DevOps & Azure tab.
  3. If your account does not have an Microsoft Entra application, a button labeled Create Application will be visible.
  4. Click this button to initiate the creation of the Microsoft Entra application.
  5. Upon successful creation, a confirmation message will appear, and the button will no longer be visible.
