Add-Environments

Environments makes it possible to develop, test and send solutions to production without hindering any previous stage of the process. PowerMove simplifies the process of building a solution and sending it to the different environments.


Access

This user must have the following roles:

  • System Administrator role for the environments
  • Permissions to create service connections in Azure DevOps
  1. Select Add envionment.

  2. Select the correct ENVIRONMENT.

  3. Select Save.

    Repeat

    Repeat for all the permanent environments.

    note

    When an environment is added to PowerMove the following happens:

    • A Service Connection is created in the Azure DevOps project for the environment, so that the PowerMove pipeline have access to that environment.
    • A PowerMove Application User is added to the Power Platform environment with the System Administrator role, so that the PowerMove pipeline have access to deploy solutions to that environment.

Setup Next Environments

Next Enviornment is used so PowerMove know what solution should be deployed where. It looks at the next envionment of the development environment of your solution, and all next environments are then added to the list of deployable environments for that solution.

  1. Select Edit on the Envionment where you need to add a relationship to the next envionment.

  2. Select the correct NEXT ENVIRONMENT.

  3. Select Save.

    Repeat

    Repeat for all the environments that should have a next environment.
